Behind The Seed That Felt Small – A Story About Growing in Your Own Time
Sometimes we write the story we need to hear ourselves.
When I began writing The Seed That Felt Small, I wasn’t thinking about big publishing dreams or polished characters. I was thinking about all the kids (and grown-ups) who have ever felt like they’re growing too slowly, or in the wrong direction.
I was thinking about the quiet ones. The different ones. The ones who don’t quite fit in with the tall sunflowers or perfect roses.
🌿 What The Seed That Felt Small Is About
It's the story of Daisy — a tiny seed planted in a bright, bustling garden full of bigger, bolder flowers. Unsure of what she’ll become, Daisy watches others bloom with confidence while she still feels small, unsure, and unseen.
As the seasons pass, she slowly begins to grow — not into a sunflower or a rose, but into something completely her own. Something equally beautiful.
✨ Why This Story Matters
We live in a world that often celebrates fast success, loud personalities, and picture-perfect outcomes. But that’s not how real growth works. Especially not for kids who are shy, sensitive, or quietly finding their voice.
It’s a story of:
- Patience
- Belonging
- Becoming
It gently reminds kids (and the adults who read with them) that we all bloom in our own time, and in our own way.
📖 Who It’s For
This book is perfect for:
- Kids who feel behind or different
- Quiet kids who don’t speak up much in class
- Families practicing gentle parenting or emotional awareness
- Teachers, counselors, and librarians supporting self-worth in students
It’s a meaningful addition to bedtime routines, SEL shelves, and classrooms focused on kindness and individuality.
